Lost tribes of Israel not same as sheep-explained

There has never being any lost tribes of Israel

10 Lost Tribes of Israel

The Lost Tribes of Israel has long been a trending topic on YouTube. I once wrote a post about the myth of the ten lost tribes of Israel. This tackled the false idea  that the ten northern tribes was banished by the Assyrians into oblivion. From that post I receive comments and will respond to one of those comments here in this post.

The comment was: “If there are no Lost Tribes of Israel, then to whom did Yasha refer in Matthew 10:5-6 when He tells the disciples not to go the way of the Gentiles, but to the Lost Sheep of the House of Israel?” This is a fair question, and I am sure it is well-intentioned.

Israel was founded by 12 sons of Jacob

The people of Israel was founded on the twelve sons of a man called Jacob GOD later renamed him Israel. During their formative years they were organized as tribal entities.

Jacob’s 12 original sons by birth order and respective mothers:

    1. Reuben (Leah)
    2. Simeon (Leah)
    3. Levi (Leah)
    4. Judah (Leah)
    5. Dan (Bilhah)
    6. Naphtali (Bilhah)
    7. Gad (Zilpah)
    8. Asher (Zilpah)
    9. Issachar (Leah)
    10. Zebulun (Leah)
    11. Joseph (Rachel)
    12. Benjamin (Rachel)

Is it actually twelve or Thirteen Tribes?

One could argue that there were thirteen tribes. Joseph had two sons Ephraim and Manasseh. When Jacob visited Joseph in Egypt, he adopted both of them as his sons instead of grandsons giving them equal tribal status instead of Joseph their father. Levi was not granted landed inheritance in Canaan. but were instead scattered among the other tribes. Consequently, the 12-tribe structure is maintained to leverage the mystical significance associated with that number.

Lost tribes would still sons of Israel

Another important consideration when discussing lost tribes of Israel is understand that while they were organized as tribes they are all sons of Jacob. Their sons and other sons after them will still all be sons of Jacob. Therefore when tribal affiliations ends, the genetic association with Jacob is still maintained over generations.  Even when they are scattered into the nations as GOD insisted.

Deu_28:64  And 1 the LORD your God will disperse you into all the nations, from the tip of the earth, unto the other tip of the earth. And you shall slave there to other gods of wood and stone, which you have no knowledge of , nor your fathers.

This and many other verses of the Bible insist that GOD did evict the people of Israel from the land HE gave to them. The Israel of the Bible was never a geographical space but a people or race of people, as verses like the one below:

Jer_31:1  In that time, said the LORD, I will be for a God to the race of Israel, and they will be to me for a people.

If Deu_28:64 is true, then we should not expect the people of Israel to be contiguous. We must accept the Word of GOD that Israel is scattered amongst the Gentile around the world. Obviously the Gentiles never acknowledged Israel. may the the catalyst for the ideas of the Lost tribes of Israel.  We should recognize that it was HIS will that the Gentiles would not have knowledge. HE would disperse them from the land HE had previously given to their ancestors, making sure that the Gentiles has lost memory of them as it states:   Deu_32:26  I said, I will disperse them, and I will cause their memorial to cease from among men.

Lost tribes of Israel gone from human memory but not from GOD

The following verses discuss the fact that Israel (the people) is not forgotten by GOD.The fact is that in GOD’s eye there is no lost tribes of Israel: Psa_94:14 For the LORD shall not thrust away his people, and he shall not abandon his  inheritance;

As a matter of fact GOD has also prepare a glorious future for the people of Israel: Deu_30:3 that the LORD shall heal your sins, and shall show mercy on you, and again shall bring you from out of all the nations into which the LORD your God dispersed you there.
Isa_11:12 And he shall lift a sign unto the nations. And he will bring together the ones being destroyed of Israel. And he will gather the ones being dispersed of Judah from out of the four wings of the earth.

what do we know about the supposedly lost tribes of Israel

It is interesting  that people still talk about lost tribes even when there are numerous statement that GOD has procured a glorious and will lead them out of the dispersal one day in the future. For example:  Eze_20:34 And I will lead you from out of the peoples, and I will take you from out of the places of which you were dispersed in them, with a fortified hand and with a high arm, and with rage being poured forth.

The idea of lost tribes of Israel still persist today.

lost tribes of Israel is different from lost sheep

Lost tribes of Israel and sheep are both physical entities but sheep take on a more spiritual component. The following verse in the Bible differentiate the two.

Mat_20:16  Thus will be the last first, and the first last. For many are called, but few chosen.
Isa_10:22  And if the people of Israel should become as the sand of the sea, the vestige of them shall be preserved.

These verses suggest that the physical Israel has two components, The called and the Chosen. Every single physical descendants of Jacob(Israel) the called. All are covered under the same covenant GOD made with Abraham. As the verses above suggest the Chosen are very few in numbers.

But the “many” are not covered by the covenant of mercy and life administrated by JESUS CHRIST. They will just live out their lives and are destroyed and annihilated just like the Gentiles.

The lost sheep

When CHRIST came over 2,000 years ago, He proclaimed the Good News—the message of salvation. Through His own words and actions, HE demonstrated that salvation was created for Israel alone. In His command to the disciples, Matthew 10:6 records, But you go rather to the lost sheep of the house of Israel!

Later, CHRIST reaffirmed this mission, saying in Matthew 15:24, “I was not sent except unto the lost sheep of the house of Israel.” These words leave no doubt about to whom His earthly ministry was directed.
By the way, After JESUS ascended, the Apostle Peter confirmed this divine purpose in Acts 5:31, declaring, “This one—God, chief and deliverer, exalted by his right hand, to give repentance to Israel and release of sins.

”Together, these verses reveal a consistent truth: the covenant of salvation and repentance was granted to the house of Israel, in fulfillment of GOD’s promises through fore father Abraham.

That covenant of mercy states the following:

The letter of the covenant says:  Deu 7:9 – And you shall know that the LORD your God — this one is God, the trustworthy God, the one guarding the covenant and mercy to the ones loving him, and to the ones guarding his commandments into a thousand generations;
Deu 7:12 And it will be when ever you should hear these ordinances, and should have guarded and should have done them, that the LORD your God will protect the covenant with you, and the mercy which he swore by an oath to your fathers.

These are the Chosen and we will learn that these are the “Lost sheep” whom JESUS referred to.

Deuteronomy 7:10 and repaying to the ones detesting his face, to utterly destroy them. And he shall not be slow to the ones detesting; by person he shall render what is due to them.
these represent the unsaved sons and daughters of Jacob/Israel..

If There are no Lost Tribes of Israel but who did JESUS refer to as Lost sheep

To uncover who the Lost sheep are, we must first find what the word “Lost” means in its context. Thayer Definition: (Lost)G622 is a verb. It could mean any or all of the following:

to destroy, to put out of the way entirely, render useless, to kill, to declare that one must be put to death, metaphorically to devote or give over to eternal misery in hell, to perish, ruined, destroyed

JESUS uses the metaphor “sheep”  for those of the house of Israel whom HE came to provide salvation for according to the covenant of mercy.

Matthew 10:6 records, But you go rather to the lost sheep of the house of Israel!

Later, CHRIST reaffirmed this mission, saying in Matthew 15:24, “I was not sent except unto the lost sheep of the house of Israel.” These words leave no doubt about to whom His earthly ministry was directed. We see same sentiments in the following verses:

Luk_15:6 And having come unto the house, he calls together the friends and the neighbors, saying to them, Rejoice along with me! for I found my sheep, the one being lost.

Joh_10:16 And other sheep I have which are not of this yard; and those it is necessary for me to lead, and they shall hear my voice; and there shall be one flock, one shepherd.

Technically as I discussed earlier, the term Lost tribes is a gross inaccuracy but the term lost sheep as JESUS uses it simply means those of Israel whom HE came to save over all generations until HE returns for them

Christ second coming is imminent

is god a racist chosen people israel
